    Game I

    Charlotte- 3
    Gaston Braves- 7

    Gaston played overall better than Charlotte did tonight, although the umpires seemed a little rough on Charlotte. Gaston leads 1-0 in the series and the game tommorow is at 7 at Myers Park High School.

    What a game! There were a lot of plays and situations that could have completely changed the complexion of the game either way throughout the game. Both pitchers pitching out of jams, guys diving to save extra bases, the almost-home-run-ball that somehow stayed in the yard, preventing Charlotte from taking the lead in the 7th, lots of energy and desire on both sides, what more could you ask for (other than Gaston winning!). It's hard to pick a defining play, but the play your shortstop made in the 8th on Cline's base hit up the middle, diving and preventing the runner on second from scoring, wow. Great game, and congrats to Charlotte on the win, but we're not packing it in!

    Game 4

    Gaston 5
    Charlotte 4

    This was another great game. Charlotte went up 2-0 in the first inning off Andrew Cooper. Gaston scored in the second on a Matt Teague solo gome run. Josh Duncan came up with a 2-out, 2-run single in the 4th(?) and Jason Cline added a 2-run single in the 6th or 7th. Charlotte scored 2 more in the 7th before Cooper closed the door with runners on 2nd and 3rd. David Bumgardner relieved and pitched out of jams in the 8th and 9th.

    Game 5 between Charlotte and Gaston Braves will be played at Ashbrook High School at 7 O'clock instead of at East Gaston HS.

    I heard from a Charlotte player that after two batters the game was delayed and moved to Cherryville because of rain. So I'm guessing the game's not even over yet.
