...I wish I knew what is going on over there. langston has been reassigned to outside charlotte sports.

I remember in past years the answer to little baseball coverage was The Hornets playoffs..ending of HS basketball playoffs..vacations..excuses, excuses.

Now..it is even worse. Not to take anything away from soccer, field hockey, girls softball, Golf (is that a hs sport) and spring curling...but these sports get more recognition by the Observer. The Observer's opinion is we get the box scores..that should suffice...well, it's not even close to sufficient...I wish the Hornets or whatever they'll call them will hurry up, so we can get a little respect in this city.

I'm seriously thinking of starting a TBR sports paper to send to all the schools.

you know, we could set something up that our folks can compile roundups here and get them e-mailed out to the correct newspaper eyeballs.

is there anywhere that keeps up with all of the stats?

That would actually be a good idea. That or a site like impact, but just for the Charlotte area with reports on each game. I'd help if I wasn't leaving in a couple months. That'd be a great idea. The conference championship game with East and myers Park didn't get any coverage at all.

Larry, there is not one place that covers stats quicker or more thorough than TBR...people come on here everyday and every night to catch the scores of games before it is ever printed in the paper ( if it ever does).

This forum can present any info at anytime...All we have to do is ask NC, SouthLoop and others ( I wish Socks could be around) to do anything and ....POOF...it's there.

If one wants stats, stats we can get...why that is what the "s" stands for in TBR's :D

The only thing preventing us from setting up a database and making it searchable is having the web space ....

There is enough expertise on the board to make it happen .....
and to make it the most EXTENSIVE HS Stat system in the state BUT!!!! To make any number worthwhile, we need to give lessons to all the score keepers on what constitutes a hit, an error, an earned run etc.

I was at a game recently. Ball hit down the 3rd base line. Fielder Air-mails the throw 5 feet over the outstretched glove of the 1st baseman, runner advances to 2nd.......

The Home Team official scorer announced it as a double.

    D'oh !!!!

We need to start a thread ... and start talking.

We need an experienced systems designer who isn't already working 12 hrs a day .... and I know quite a few are on the board here .......

I can design all kinds of things...paper airplanes, sports strategies, where to install my DVD in my bedroom...but when you start speaking " Geekese"...I'm lost. Just tell me or Larry ( who can speak and understand the " Geek language") what exactly do we need and let's begin
