Cherryville Post 100 info

Got to the game late, don't have much info, but here is what I can share.

Cherryville a number of pitchers again tonight. They were down 9-5 going into the bottom of the 8th. They got 4 runs to tie the game. Then in the top of the 9th, Mooresville got the bases loaded, then got a hit into the right field corner to clear the bases and take a 12-9 lead that they held onto. I believe the hit was from #9 Billy Nantz.

Cherryville got a 2 run HR in the 8th and a double earlier in the game from Drew Reynolds.

Post 100 is now 5-5 overall and still 1-2 in the division.
Post 100 will host Caldwell Co. @ 7pm tomorrow (wednesday).

I was not able to go to the game tonight, but have heard parts on the radio and now on the internet.

Starting Pitcher for Post 100 was Adam Benfield. Drew Reynolds came in during the 7th.
After 3 innings it was Cherryville Post 100 leading Caldwell Co. Post 29 by a score of 4-2.
After 6 innings Cherryville #100 is now leading 6-2.

During the 7th inning, the 8 & 9 hitters get on, and Post 29 gets a 3 run HR from leadoff hitter, Cody Reed. Score now 6-5.

Post 100 gets a 3 run HR from Bryan DaCanal to go up 9-5 after 7 innings.

Post 100 gets 1 more run in the 8th to go up 10-5.

Game ends with Cherryville winning 10-5.

that is a big win for Cherryville evening up their division record.

 

North/South Tournament June 11,12,13, 2010

6-11-10 Cherryville defeats Clover, SC #38 by a score of 11-3.
6-12-10 Cherryville got shutout by Sumter, SC #15 by a score of 11-0. (5 innings)
6-13-10 Cherryville was defeated by Florence, SC #1 by a score of 10-4.

 

They carrying the Shelby game tonight with Cherryville? Haven't been able to get the listen live link to work at times.

 

Radio for Post 100 is still limited. A Shelby radio station does alot of the Post 82 games tho. Their website is www.realcountry1390.com. That may be the only place to hear tonight's game. They had some bad weather over that way earlier, but give this website a try.

I also listed somewhere in my posts about the NC/SC challenge the websites for several teams, Rowan has 2, Sumter, Shelby & Cherryville.

Hope you get this in time to find the Shelby coverage.

Schedule Change

The game @ Mooresville on Tues 6/22 has been changed. Cherryville will NOT play a "non-divisional" game in Mooresville on Tues, but instead Post 100 will play a "divisional" game in Rutherfordton against Post 423 to make up for the game that was postponed on 6/4.

 

Good to know, but someone probably ought to tell Mooresville. According to their papers and personel, they are still expecting a game.
