Now this is more like it atleast one Caldwell fan is willing to speak up and support there team.. Now by no means is he correct but we all have the right to be wrong at some time. How is the padded cell now adays and by the looks of your typing skills you have been practicing. We had to fish you out and now you go thread jumping? Cherryville defeats Rutherford by a score of 10-3 for force game 3 Wednesday night in Cherryville.

C'ville - Tripper Crisson, solo HR in the 3rd

Rutherford Co. - Stephen Crowe, 3 run HR in the 7th

 

Area 4 final, game 3 vs Rutherford Co. Post 423

Cherryville Post 100 defeats Rutherford Co. Post 423 by a score of 18 - 8 (7 innings) to win the series 2-1.

This earns Post 100 their 4th straight Area 4 title. Also, it ties them with Gastonia Post 23 for the most Area 4 titles all time, with 14.

Post 100 entered the 6th down by a score of 8-6, but put up 10 runs in the inning to take the lead 16-8. Drew Reynolds hit a home run during the inning. They got 2 more in the 7th to end the game on the 10 run rule.

Cherryville will play Cary on Saturday at 12:30, (i think)

 

State Tourn. coverage

Once again, Richard Walker of the Gaston Gazette proves to be one of the very best when it comes to coverage for high school and legion games.

He is in Ashboro, and he is posting updates on the paper's website in the sports section. If you don't know, their site is www.gastongazette.com. As of this typing, you can the link to the updates on the front page of the site under latest local stories. They are also posted in the sports section along with other legion news.

He has the lineups and a inning by inning update if you click on the story.

 

tuesday game vs Whiteville Post 137

Cory Parks will go for Post 100 tonight against Whiteville. C'ville will be the home team.

Whiteville enters as the only unbeaten team, so the advantage goes to Post 137.

If C'ville wins tonight, they would play Kernersville on Wednesday afternoon, and if they won that game, they would play Wt'ville again tomorrow night.

If Wt'ville wins the tuesday night game, the would play Kernersville on Wednesday and Wt'ville would have to be defeated twice.

Really no use to worry about the other stuff tho. Post 100 either wins now, or it doesn't matter. All they can worry about is defeating Post 137 in the Tuesday night game.

 

Championship Wednesday

Post 100 will play Kernersville Post 36 @ 3pm today. The winner will play Whiteville @ 7pm for the state championship.

Well, it just wasn't meant to be.

Congrats to Kernersville as they have defeated C'ville 10-2. They will now play Whiteville for the championship.

The boys had quite a run for a team that finished the regular season 14-12. Then to go 14-4 in the playoffs, I tip my hat to the young men.

K'ville Post 36 vs. W'ville post 137.....may the best team win.
