    Never seen a game lost on sun balls (4 in that half of the inning I think). It was devastating but correctable: sunglasses, throws down below the waist or one hoppers. They did the same thing 3-4 succesive plays and nobody stepped up: not coaches, not players on the field, not the bench till it was too late. It was weird...

    I didn't understand the ejection of the C'ville pitcher last nite. If it was for sportsmanship, then surely the 3 baseman was as or more guilty. If it was for something else, I missed it.

    If I'm not mistaken, games 1 & 3 in this series have been won/lost on errors. The pitching has been very good outta P'ville so far and very good from C'ville except for the 6 or 7 runs given up in game 2.


    Traffic will be bad on I-485 (from I-77 on). It could be bad on I-85. For those coming in from Cherryville, leave in plenty of time.

    I totally agree with CCSNews. That half of the 4th inning had to be the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I played first base for Cherryville High School in the mid 90's, that sun has always been an issue that time of night, but we always took measures to prevent things like that. If it happened one time it definitely wouldnt' happen a 2nd or 3rd or 4th.

    As far as the ejection of the C'ville pitcher, it was my anderstanding that it was for unsportsmanlike conduct. He threw his hat. If I was in his shoes, I'm sure there would have an expletive or 2 thrown in there too. Everything during that inning was a little confusing.

    I've never been one to blame an umpire for a missed call. In a game where doing something 3 out of 10 times makes you a success (getting a hit), it's hard to blame an umpire who may blow a call or 2 in a 9 inning game. With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the third basemen was the more guilty party and the homeplate umpire just missed it. The umpire did seem to have something else besides the ballgame on his mind. Very inconsistent strike zone regardless of which team was batting.

    Everybody has been looking at at Caldwell County and Cherryville matchup but someone forgot to tell Pineville!
    It should be a interesting game tonight in Pineville! 2 very good teams!
