    Considering the next level for him is the 11th grade. I would say Yes.

    Game 4 tonight at the new field in Rutherford.. Forest City or something like that.

    Cherryville 20

    Cherryville pitcher Jake Watts went four innings and Drew Reynolds came in and finished the shortened Game. Reynolds was 4 for 4 at the plate and Watts, Benson and McSwain all had three hits and maybe Wright also had three. Cherryville did not commit an error while Shelby had three. Game two tonight in Shelby.

    Shelby 2


    Cherryville pitcher Phill Russ throws a dandy and limited the Shelby bats to one run thru eight last night. Russ gave up a couple of hits in the ninth to let Shelby score one more run but was able to close it out on the hill. Russ pitched a dandy against Shelby and always has had good outings against them for some reason.

    Game 4 is at Shelby tonight at 7

    Shelby 1 8 innings
    Cherryville pitcher Jake Watts was able to hold post 82 to only one run over the entire eight innings. Post 100 was able to put the ball in play most of the time and force Shelby to work on defense. A great offensive effort and a solid defensive effort from Cherryville only having one error tonight. With this win Cherryville slipped by Shelby to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Up next is Pineville who is on a hot streak with only one or two games so far in the playoffs making it past the seventh inning.

    I think Pineville will play at Adrey Cale high so if that is the case be sure and bring a chair to the game due to the limited seating.

    Cherryville post 100 will open the state tournament in Gastonia N.C at Simms park on Tuesday August 5th at 4:30 p.m. Cherryville looks to defend the 07 title and will open the show against Wilmington N.C.
