Just out of curiosity..Watching the AC Reynolds Rockets this year, I've seen a lot of bombs. We have 33 HRs as a team this year..have no idea what the school record is, but I would think that has got to be getting pretty close. If your team has been going deep with regularity this season, let's hear about it! Teamwise and individually..I'll try to get the individual leaders for the Rockets. If any ACR readers know them, post 'em.

Cameron Duckworth: SR, 1B - 5 reg season
    Blaine Howell: SR, P/OF/1B - 4 reg season; 5 incl scrimmages/tourneys
    Kyle Paeplow: JR, P/DH/1B - 4 reg season; 5 incl scrimmages/tourneys
Seth Hines: SR, 3B - 3 reg season
Brandon Briggs: SR, OF - 1 reg season

Yeah, you know, the things before the regular season starts???? Obviously not a part of reg season stats....but worth mentioning... (especially for those hitting the balls)

(btw - tourneys are those things that just happened over spring break - LOL)

wod bat days of long ago

when I read this post, I thought of how these HR #'s compared to the best power teams from the pre-metal bat days , way back in the 60's & early 70's? back then I'd say about 5 HR's in a season would be a "power"-hitting team; ???? comments?

    Homeruns

We have never really lived off the long ball over the years. This season has been totally different for us. We have 25 as a team through 21 regular season games. Jeff May Soph Catcher (9) Chris Luck Jr SS (8) Pratt Maynard Soph P-3b (5) Mike Robbins Sr OF-P (2) Robbie Raplee Fresh OF (1). Our 3-4-5 hitters have 22 HR's between them on the year and all are underclassman. The most we have hit as a team since the mid 90's is 23 on the season. The school record for an individual player in a season is 11 by Donald Timberlake back in 1981 or 1982 not exactly sure. Im not sure what the team record is I dont think anyone really knows.

Yeah, and some hit homers against weak pitchers and some against strong pitchers. Some hit 'em right handed and some hit 'em lefty. Some hit 'em with woodies and some with aluminum....

A homer is a homer is a homer - regardless of where, when, and how.

While it may not be "worth mentioning" the kid who hits his first homerun in practice (or scrimmage) has just proven to himself he CAN do it - his practice has paid off and he's reached a huge milestone, one that will be the push for him to continue to work harder to try for the next one, then the next one, and then the one after that.

So, moe, go ahead and discount the practices and scrimmages, just please don't tell your kid (or someone else's) that you don't count them.....
