    Metal era

    Maybe someone can do the research on when metal was first allowed. I played HS from 74-77 and I do not remember anyone playing with metal. I thought they were first introduced in the early 80's? I could be wrong maybe no one had them around here so I just thought they came in later. If someone knows it would be interesting to see just when they first came into play.

    bownarrowbob,

    just to let you know it is about 360 in center at west forsyth and 330 down right field line. granted it is a short porch to left. we have maybe 1 homerun a year that we call a "west forsyth" homerun. in the past 8 years we have hit more homeruns on the road (including east and glenn) than we have at home. :blah:

    Hopewell H.S. is 330 down both the right and left lines and 370 in center. Takes a real poke to get it out of there.

    Agree - but a wise coach once said "Chicks (actually women) ruin more good baseball players that alcohol and drugs combined!"
