Impact Baseball is reporting that 09 RHP Chris Munnelly has verballed to UNC. Chris is from Forsyth Country Day HS. Congrats to Chris and his family. He is a tremendous young man and very talented. The Heels are off to a great start with the 09 class. Levi Micheal , Brian Goodwin and now Chris.

I saw him for the first time at the Future Game. Needless to say, I was very impressed. As he gets older and gains more weight, this young man will have no limit. His upside is off the chart.

Here's what Perfect Game had to say about. Kid is pretty much the real deal.

    PG Report
Chris Munnelly is a 2009 RHP/IF with a 6'1'', 155 lb. frame from Winston-Salem, NC who attends Forsyth Country Day. Very thin, young frame. Funky delivery, compact arm action, hides ball very well, + deception. FB jumped on hitters, excellent change up, CB sharp on occasion, especially out of stretch. Threw strikes, pitched aggressively. Hitters wanted no part of him. Projects well. Very good follow.

Congratulations to Chris and his family. The Tarheels are getting a great pitcher and a great family to go along with the other great 09s they already gotten!!!

Consistently 88+ with great command of 3 pitches! And he will certainly add more velocity once he quits growing upward and starts to spread out and gain strength!

Red Sox Fan...put him on your diet and he'll be just fine!

Not a good indication of just how good Chris is. Hadn't pitched in a while and pitching against some of the best seniors NC has to offer. He was absolutely unhittable in two outings in Fort Myers this fall. Hey, if the Tarheels offered, that's all you need to know. Colleges today, with the new roster reductions, can't afford to miss or recruit projects. They need players that can produce day 1.

Congratulations to Chris and his family!

Tarheels just keep stronger and stronger. They got a kid from Hickory thats a good pitcher and hitter also.
