The McDowell vs. Mitchell girls game was canceled because Mitchell could not make the trip due to bad weather. That puts McDowell in the semis against Independence on wednesday evening at Freedom High School. Independence defeated W. Forsyth in the opening round today.

McDowell JV's lost to Shelby 64-51. They could not stop the Montgomery girl, but that was to be expected. Otherwise, everything else was pretty even. I saw a couple that will be contributors to the Varsity in a couple of years.

wasnt close....25 points or so. Both teams played like they hadn't seen a gym in a week (which of course they hadnt) , but I's pressure was far more than WF was used to.

52-25 was the actual score of the Indy/West Forsyth game. West Forsyth missed a ton of point blank shots, the margin could had been closer. bbfan did hit the nail right on the head, West Forsyth could not handle the Independence pressure. Doomes-Stephens (#3) had a good showing for Indy, I would guess she will be matched up with Washington in the semifinals.

Madison blew out Hibriten in the 5 pm game. The second semifinal will be a battle of the Patriots, so to speak.

RR, did you attend the game last night? I checked out Larry Hawley on the 11 pm news and he made it sound like Austin-East was really athletic team.
