Hard to believe but one of those games tomorrow from the loser's bracket may be of significance. Both West Charlotte and Indy have lost some games early on in the season. Considering how the playoff selection process has changed in reguards to Wild Cards, it would be prudent that either Indy or West Charlotte ends up only suffering one loss in the tourney. Losing 2 or 3 games at the Freedom Christmas Tourney could prove harmful in reguards to making the playoffs as a Wild Card.

Well AC Reynolds beat Asheville for a third time but it wasn't easy....double OT as ACR won 69-65 to win the Great Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic at Pisgah. NOW the fun really begins as conference really starts to heat up next week when ACR travels to Freedom, and Watauga pays us a visit. Should be exciting.

SO true! Makes me wonder IF this is the reason AC Reynolds didn't go to High Point this year like the past couple years when they faced Thomasville and High Point Central. I don't know, but with Wild Card process makes one think about how they schedule now!

Just another reason why the Freedom-McDowell rivalry is the best rivalry in North Carolina. Should be a great matchup

I think most everybody had their schedule complete before the NCHSAA adopted the new playoff selection format. But I think its very likely you'll see teams next year schedule easier non-conference games because of it.

Kurie Washington had another big night for the Lady Titans, scoring 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Tomorrow night's Championship Game features IMO two of the better underclassmen in the entire state. It will definitely be interesting to see how both teams prepare for Washington and Freedom's Ali Ford.

I hate we'll have to miss this tonight because of a prior engagement, being New Year's Eve and all. I hope the Big Dog is there to broadcast, and I hope we can get it in our parts.

The game should tell a little story about how the conference may play out. I hope it is close. Freedom has the quickness, and I hope McDowell will have an advantage with size. But, if you don't control the ball at all times, Freedom's little quick players will snatch it away.

Now, let me ruffle some feathers (ReynoldsRocks and others). Both Ford and Washington are scoring machines. I would have thought Thompson or Worley would be a "shoe-in" for player of the year? Now, I'm not so sure. I think both Ford and Washington will average in the 20's, and both are way ahead of their age.

This may sound stupid, but Ford is J.J. Redick like, constantly moving without the ball and looking for the shot, even though she plays mostly point. Washington is probably too unselfish, but does have a little more help with scoring.

If McDowell can hold up their end of the bargain, the big 4, (and maybe East Burke and Watauga, I haven't seen them) will have many epic battles. I wouldn't want to miss any game between any of these teams. This may come down to which teams come up with the best game plans, and which teams become the toughest, mentally and physically.

I dare anybody to pick a champion right now? What do you guys think? Great season ahead! :229031_ha
