(added: If the above quote is sarcasm than no need to read any further, but if it is a serious post then by all means keep reading)

Read NFHS rule1-4-1 in its entirety.

That rule says that the colors of the logo and lacing do not factor into determining whether a glove has more then two colors.

It also says the lacing cannot be the color of the ball.

It later says there can be no markings on the outside or inside of the glove that gives the appearance of the ball. (added: The slide in the NFHS pp says a ball, but the actual rule says the ball, so white and grey markings are legal if using an optic yellow ball and optic yellow markings are legal if using a white ball.)

This does include logos and writing if it is on the fingers which is unargueably NFHS's interpretation and can be made evident to anyone who wishes by visiting their website and reviewing the softball rules section which I believe someone posted a link to via the NCHSAA site. (added: or just look at the above post.)

    Hope this helps.

    Email Mizuno

I emailed Muzino about this. They said they were aware of the rule in NC.
If you as a player or parent are willing to take the time to email Muzino they will replace the glove with a tan one.....

    Here their response

Thank you for contacting Mizuno USA. We are sorry for any inconvience this

    A Glove update!

    Just an update:
We mailed our Mizuno in last Wednesday.
Our black "illegal" glove wasn't even brand new (it was a couple of years old, and one of 2 identical ones we have).
I just rec'd the brand new tan replacement in the mail (5 days later).
Kudos to Mizuno for their customer service and thank you to Stanleysoftball for scoping this out for all of us!
