I will back up the fact that Chris Lick is a very solid 07 player!! He has played well against us the last 2 years, and when he's able to pitch again, watch out...

You know I don't how I forgot Wright. He is definitely one of the top 07 players in the mountains. I think one reason is he was gone when we played last summer. Glad you mentioned him.

some 07’s in the North end of Mecklenburg to follow (no particular order on any of these):

Brandon Whitt – North Meck HS: Nice fastball with tough to hit curve. I think, the best Pitcher at NMHS. Not bad with the bat either. Heard he was being followed by several D1 schools at this point. If his arm stays healthy, he’ll be playing after HS.

Michael Vaughn – Hopewell HS: Versatile player that can hit for average and power. Strong arm. Plays on a 9-2 ballclub that has already played South Meck (twice), Providence, Myers Park, Ashley, New Hanover, and Cary high schools - plus others. Heard several D1’s were watching him as a potential position player and at least one D1 as a pitcher.

Zack Turton – Hopewell HS: Outfielder with an arm and speed. A real threat when he gets on base and he does that frequently due to his solid bat. Heard he could be a good pitcher also but haven’t seen that as Hopewell won’t take him out of CF. Haven’t heard anything about his recruiting but I personally feel he is under rated.

here are other 07s that can play and have a solid shot at playing at the next level with a little more (physical development, opportunity, and/or work):

    Shane Brown - North Meck
    Spencer Thompson - North Meck
    Brett Smith - Hopewell
    Anthony Sully - Hopewell
