Congrats to Coach Hignight for landing one of the best coaching jobs in the area.
    :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
And congrats to Providence for making a great choice.

Danny is a fine young man who no doubt will return the Providence program to its position as a regular favorite to win the SW4A and compete for the state title. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision to hire a rookie head coach for this job -- but I have no doubts that it was an excellent one. It is great to see a quality young guy get the chance there.

Providence players -- Coach Hignight will expect a lot, but if you give him all you've got you will find him to be a real players' coach.

Providence is certainly getting a head coach in Danny Hignight who will give 110% ALL the time to his players. He lives, breathes and sleeps baseball! Knows the game, loves the sport and his players love to play for him.

    Congratulations to Coach Hignight!:xyzthumbs

....next thing someone will suggest is that Brian Cottom, another SM Assistant has transferred with Mark Mennitt to Parkwood....Hmmm!

    Chief:

You may suggest and I will confirm that Brian Cottom, another South Meck assistant, has left the South Meck coaching staff. Brian Cottom will be joining head Coach Mark Mennitt and assistant Aaron Hammers ((both previously from the Independence coaching staff) at Parkwood starting the 2003 high school season.

Coach Hignight and Coach Cottom will be a tremendous loss to the South Meck baseball coaching staff!!!

Chief or...should I call you "Oh Mystic One":

Thanks for your always current and up to date NEWS from the world of your Baseball Psychic Crystal Ball!!! But, please do NOT make any more predictions with regard to baseball coaches moving from one high school staff to another!!! We now know that you are the All-Knowing Crystal Ball expert and authority of predicting the Charlotte area's baseball coaching switch-a-roo pool but please DO NOT polish up that crystal ball again this summer to use your psychic powers to foresee another baseball coaching joust as it may just come true!!! Next thing you know, you'll be predicting that Hal Bagwell from South Meck will be transferring to UNC-Charlotte as an assistant coach there?!?

Ron Coltrane, former East Meck Athletic Director, will take over the Independence job.
