    Great Coach even better man

Coach Smith has changed many lives and made Friday nights fun for alot of young men in black and gold over the years. He made a couple of Saturdays pretty special too. EZ's a great coach and an even better man.

I spent one summer getting to know EZ as a junior at USC and he just finished his freshman year. We were in summer school together and stayed at The Roost (an athletic dorm at the time). We spent all summer playing BBall, working out and going to school....up until he met this pretty softball player. Then we never saw him. EZ ended up marrying this young lady and she put him on the right track :REDanceBanana008:

Seriously, he was an outstanding young man with a lot of character.... and nothing has changed since.

    HS Football is Changing.....

Looks like a few of the "old guard" are passing the torch to the "new guard" in local high school football. Coaches like Tom Brown (Maiden), EZ Smith (Concord) and others will sorely be missed. Not looking forward to the day that Otto (Charlotte Catholic) hangs it up, either. Class acts, all of them.

Job VERY WELL done, Coach Smith.......it will take somebody special to fill those big shoes in Concord! Good Luck!
