The ump has ruled! And the ump ruled Coach May deserves all the accolades he receives (which 99.99% of us on TBR already knew). Too bad Coach May is too humble to accept the recognition and accolades he gets!

Not only does he have on-field savvy, he can and does motivate and teach youngsters, teenagers and young adults the work ethics they need to succeed on the baseball field and in life! As the ump stated, we are just singing in his choir and I would like to thank Coach May as well as all the Coaches that have coached my kids for the time they spent with my kids!!

As one of the other threads brought out, baseball is the greatest game ever invented. Not only does it help prepare kids, young adults and adults for the challenges and opportunities in life, it provides a network of friends that you will never forget!

Coach May is the real deal

My son had the privilege of playing for Coach May and he loved every minute of it. Coach May encourages, motivates, cajoles, and teaches each and every one of his players. He's there to help them grow as both players and as young men. It was a pleasure, as a parent, to watch him interact with the boys both on and off the field, and I feel like we were the winners in our interaction with Coach May. We were the lucky ones to have had the opportunity to play under his leadership. We hope to have that opportunity again in the future. Thanks Coach May for your time and devotion to the boys and to baseball in NC.

Great post Coach. I forwarded these to my 7 year old nephew and his parents in Creedmoor. Hey, why not get 'em started early?

In particular, I love rule #11. What a great way to put offseason work into perspective. I've never heard it put that way, but I love it.

    Thanks for sharing.

If I could go back in time - and pick one coach for both my boys to have played for - it would be Kenny May.

    Simple as that.

Good job coach, you taught him well

Freshman Jeff May went 2-for-3 with a solo homer to spark the Blue team to a 2-0 win over the White squad in game three of North Carolina's Fall World Series Friday at Cary's USA Baseball Complex.

#10- Team. Team. Team. You are not an individual on the baseball field. You are part of a team. You will never accomplish anything in life as an individual that will hold the importance to you as what you accomplish as part of a team. I tell the story of the "Big Bass". Catch it by yourself and who do you share it with? Catch it with a buddy and its a life long memory!

Thou speakest the TRUTH. As overheard by one Terrell Owens - "Ain't no I in TEAM, but there's a capital "I" in WIN" --- How many teams has he been on? I'm guessing if he was fishing with his team he may find himself swimming. Big ego's and Super Studs can hurt team chemistry.
