This past weekend I was invited by Pop Rivers / Kevin Allran to attend the NCSCA @ Marvin Ridge, this clinic was so informative, and even the Guru picked up some great tips on practice scheduling, hitting, and just being a team player. I just wanted to thank all the following for their knowledge and especially for the delicious barbeque and banana pudding, I got me two helping of that..LOL..I would like to reconize the following people on their well outlined messages that they presented to us on Saturday. Kevin Allran on practice schedules,Kevin did a great job on starting and ending practices, he is truly in it for the girls. Mike Lambros on school, and community support, Coach Lambros is an awesome speaker full of knowledge of this great game. I felt honored to sit under these great minds of the game. Marci Turso and Chuck McAteer on hitting , I can't say enough about these two great coaches with their techniques on how to obtain proper mechanics on how to hit the ball, and hit it properly to get the most out of the contact point. A special thanks goes to my dear friend Pop Rivers for organizing this great event, witout people like Pop, these events would not happen, and last but not least the delicious BBQ lunch provided by North Carolina Amateur Sports and Marshville Rock Store BBQ. Next year I think it will be @ Laney Highschool in Wilmington,N.C. the home of Michael Jordan sometime in late January , I encourage you to go,and be part of these great event, it would be worth the drive.

    About the NCSCA Clinic!

I think Guru did an outstanding job in recognizing these coaches who did do an excellent job on Saturday. Let me also mention Alan Tyson from Architect Sports and his very informative session on physical conditioning, The Dirt Doctor, Mr. Lynn Smith from Burnette Athletics for explaining what to look for with our field composition and how to fix and maintain. Also, Coach Joe Elston from Newberry College on college recruiting and the do's and don'ts of making a good recruiting video. I feel comfortable that those in attendance came away from the clinic with something they will be able to implement into making their program more successful in the future. Already looking forward to moving down East next year at Laney High School. A big thanks to the vendors who stayed with us all day and to everyone who spent their Saturday with us trying to learn things to make their team better. We at the NCSCA feel that we have had yet another successful clinic and look forward to the 4th Annual next January. Thanks again!
