Cody Shelton- Wingate/Ardrey Kell

    Halfway through the season, former Ardrey Kell INF, Cody Shelton, leads the Wingate baseball program in BA. If you want to cheer for someone that has earned and deserved every accolade he receives, it is Cody. He's one of those guys that works out every day so he can get better. Coach Gregory gave Shelton an opportunity to play and Cody won't let him do anything but play him.

    A lot of lessons can be learned following this young man.

    While most college freshmen tend to hit a wall after completing 30+ games simply because they are not used to playing so many games in a season; Cody is on a hitting terror. He has increased his BA from a team leading .384 to this: .420 81 ab's 34 hits

    At this rate, Cody is a leading candidate for Freshman of the Year
