Harry Jones is at Panther Creek, call him. Green Hope is right down the road though...

    panther creek or green hope?

These two schools are just about across the street from each other... I guess it's that way so Wake County can shift the students back and forth just to mess with the parent's heads! Thank the "Great Umpire in the sky" we live in Chatham Co.!
Stretchy, panther creek would be best. better parking and access to the field. At Greenhope you have to hike around the school to get to the field and it's not visible from the road or the parking area. That would be my first choice.
2nd would be Apex HS... easy to get to and a nice park.
3rd would be Fuquay... Milton Sentor has a beautiful field down there
4th would be Greenhope... it's just not that "fan friendly"

    here's an idea!

make one game for each team a wiffle ball game out in the parking lot!

this could be like a rookie league scout day for the previously posted "senior" wiffle ball league.

I know it's hard to project in this situation... but for the truly talented scouts picking from these "young studs" the ones the will develop beer bellies, bad wheels, a propensity for cussing and thorough lack of respect for umpires, it should be a "no-brainer" (absolutely no pun intended)

P.S.... now that I think about it, Apex HS would be my first choice. That way I could run into Apex for lunch at "Em-R-Wings" on Hwy 55... excellent wings!
You would still be within 10 miles of the USA Complex.

    Harry Jones

    Stretch

Could see if Shuey would contact Coach Jones for you. He has known him back to when Harry was coaching at Millbrook.

Irregardless which field you choose, will need to go through Wake County Community Schools for rental - even school coaches have had to rent their own field for summer league and legion

    Fields fields fields

The waiting list is growing by the day for this event! Next year we will need 8 fields if anyone has connections. Thanks.

This should be one of the

most interesting events this year. These college club teams have some very good players on them. Alot of these guys were players that could have played in college but chose to attend larger universities. Add in the fact they are older and are playing high school aged guys. I would be willing to bet this is going to be highly competitive. I would also expect these guys are going to be out to prove something as well.

Strap it on because these college club teams are not coming to impress any scouts or just out to have some fun. Its going to be serious business to these guys. Thats what is going to make this event so much fun imo. My money is still on the top showcase teams at this event. But dont be surprised if its a little more intense and competitive than some of you are used to seeing.

The umpire crews are going to earn every cent they make during this event.

It should be alot of fun.

    next year

Stretchy, next year I can get you Northwood's field. It's in Pittsboro, about 20 minutes from USA complex, straight down US 64. It has indoor plumbing and everything!

We would love to show it off to people from around the state! Over the last few years we have installed new irrigation, resodded the infield and built probably the best hitting facility in the state. The players never miss a practice due to weather!

Right now, they are constructing new seating areas including permanent seating and sections specifically for the "bring your lawn chair" crowd. It's going to very nice and fan friendly.

Coach Rick Parks and new AD Chandler Gray (former baseball player at Ol' Miss) are very good to work with. You won't have to jump through all the hoops like you have to in Wake County.
