CF ONLY ABLE TO BE THERE FRI. NITE FOR ONE GAME ,BUT SOUNDS AS IF THE GIRLS FROM NC ARE SHOWING THEY CAN PLAY WITH ANYONE. THE CARDINALS BEAT MARKMAN 4-3 BEHIND SOME GREAT DEFENSE AND PITCHING .BROOK THREW THE FIRST 2 INNININGS AND GINA THE LAST 5 .A LOT OF YOUNG KIDS PLAYING AT A HIGH LEVEL. I WASN'T AT THE NEXT GAME BUT THE JC FROM FLA. BEAT THE CARDINALS 5-4 WITH MENDY FROM W. FORSYTE AND BROOK TURNING IN SOME OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES. HS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THIS YEAR WITH ALL THE EXPERIENCE THESE GIRLS ARE OBTAINING. ALSO THERE IS A TOURNAMENT IN SALEM THIS COMING WEEKEND HOSTED BY VA. TECH,HAS VA,UNCG,AND OTHERS IN IT. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS ,LADY BLUES AND OTHERS THIS WEEKEND AT ELON.

LBlue1 and HSFAN................this is the best time of the year for our young ladies to be seen, dont you think! Wish i could be in Burlington on Saturday but wife has planned a Wolfpack football roadtrip to Atlanta for her birthday and Sunday....... back to Rock Hill for some more college ball(last two games of the Fall)! I am sure Lisa will give a bunch of players some real hard looks this weekend. Talented bunch of 18u teams participating....man, a huge load of talented seniors and Jr to showcase to the Max, Live for all to see. Good luck to both your squads and thanks for all you provide to the TBR softball community with your reports from tournaments and such.

Thanks to each of you for your time, knowledge, money and the dedication you have and will contiune to provide to alot of young ladies playing collegiately or inspiring to one day here in NC.

    CF Ball

Thanks CF for all U have done and will continue to do for the sport. U have helped place lots of girls in College softball over the years. We are trying to get to that level with the Blues as we are entering our second year of Showcase ball. We will see U at the various tourneys. Thanks for this site also.

Three South Caldwell grads from last year playing at Lees-Mcrae. Outfielder Keri Austin
    Infielder Heather Benfield
    Pitcher Stephanie Winebarger
All 3 have seen a lot of playing time this fall and with the several other freshman should help the program start to improve along with a new and enthusiastic head coach.
SC had 4 girls recieve scholarships this year; those three along with Ashley Adams who went to a school in Tenn. All 4 of these girls also played for the Tri-county Twisters for 4 or 5 years.

    Rock Hill Tournament.............

    .....Catawba defeated Mt Olive 8-4

Belmont Abbey defeated Spartanburg Methodist College 5-4 in 8 innings after coming from behind 4-0.......Emily Arthur(allowed 2 hits thru 4 innings) and Kerri Blackwelder pitched well(striking out 8 of the 9 batters faced) but errors were a factor in game one! Leigh Carter, Cameron Greene and Stephaine Spinks paced the offense with Haley Clauseen scoring the winning run on a single, stole second, sac to third and scored on a passed ball!

Game Two against conference foe, Mt Olive,,,,,,Amanda Bretchel pitched a 4-0 shutout with Kelly Schafer( North Gaston product) hit her first collegiate homerun with Blackwelder (west stanly) and Greene (charlotte catholic) had hits!

The Abbey finished their Fall Schedule with a 10-2 record! All :D here in Charlotte, Belmont and the Abbey Region with this young bunch Players!

    Re: LBlues

Kim and nikki collected one hit each and sorry i didnt recognize CSmith so stats on her not available but Mt Olive had 10 freshmen to revitalize their floundering program. Good to see them excited about ball especially after last years results and team problems. They lost both games on Sunday but sure this team will come to play this spring!
