    For immediate release:

Southern Star Softball and Dr. Dot Richardson and the staff at the National Training Center in Clermont, FL have teamed up and would like to invite the nation’s top girl’s fastpitch softball teams to the inaugural fall team showcase event in Clermont, FL November 5-7, 2010. Clermont, FL is located just West of Orlando, FL.

The National Training Center is a state of the art athletic training facility equipped with professionally cared for softball fields and dozens of other on site facilities for training in many other sports. It is a top of the line complex that has already attracted the attention of the top college teams in America this spring. This will soon become the premier softball venue in the South. National powers UCLA, OKLAHOMA, TENNESSEE, GEORGIA all played there this spring along with dozens of other colleges from across the US. Dr. Dot Richardson has brought the expertise that helped her establish herself as one of the greatest women's softball players of all times to this facility. For more information on the programs that are offered there by her and the staff, go to http://www.usantc.com .

This is your chance to secure your teams or organizations spot for years to come. We will limit the number of entries each year. To request an entry form, go to www.southernstarsoftball.com and click on the link.

WHY NTC AND CLERMONT, FL? Great location, great reputation and excellant facilities. The weather in Central Florida is much more stable since it is not so close to the coast. If there is rain, the fields at the NTC are elevated and contain synthetic clay for better drainage. At the NCAA event this spring the fields received over 1.5 inches or rain on Friday and play resumed on Saturday on schedule and on playable fields without delay or fear of injury. All the adjacent facilities are within 5 minutes and easy to get to. This is truly going to be a 1st class event that you will not want to miss.

WHY THE SOUTHERN STAR? With the reputation and contacts of Dr. Dot Richardson, Olympian, National Champion at UCLA and one of the top women’s softball players of all time, along with the solid growing reputation of the Southern Star All-Star and Team Showcases, don’t you think the college coaches will know about the event and the teams and want to come too?

We hope to see you there in November.
