Equality means equal... if a softball team is getting 14 scholarships then baseball should be the same, etc. I am all for women's sports because as a player in the seventies I was offered basketball and that was it. No other women's sports existed. Schools like Hickory High and Asheville High (bigger 4A shcools did not offer any women's sports.) As a coach in the early 80's I saw how Title IX helped formulate the many opportunities for girls to play. I do not believe that football should fit in the equation for scholarships etc., because it does carry many of the other sports! I do believe that if football is offered for men then field hockey should be the opposite sport offered for women, also men's volleyball should be offered here just like it is in Virginia, and other states since women already have volleyball. (Volleyball is quickly becoming a lifetime sport much like golf and tennis). If the men's teams get new uniforms every few years, then women should get the same. This is equality as far as I am concerned. There is not a women's sport that can compete number wise or monetary with college football. I wish some of the women that are whining all the time about this would wake up and smell the roses!

The colleges who have baseball televised receive so little money from the networks that it is insignificant. Many times they receive nothing but exposure.

I agree whc6...but don't you think that one day soon, that will change? The popularity of the College World Series is growing substantially each year. One can't help to project that college baseball on TV will continue to achieve enormous gains in popularity each year.

I actually had an opportunity to play in the College World Series at a time when NOBODY knew where it was played....even the players.
