Buster Posey @ FSU and Yonder @ Miami are phenomenal college players, but Gordon Beckham should get POY. That kid has been unbelievable this year. Plus, he has led his team to the National Championship

What a game! The Dawgs were tight all night and Fresno was loose from the start. Beckham freed up the entire team and the result was a great response in the bottom of the 8th. These teams are so similar down to how well each 3rd basemen plays its scary, but Fresno just doesnt have the pitching to pull this off. I look for a huge offensive explosion from the Dawgs tonite as I think they'll be loose and ready to go.

    GO DAWGS!!!

    game 2 in progress

OK, who thinks that Fresno can / will win the 2nd game with a 11-6 lead in the fifth inning?

what I think is this game will be a very long one. look for lots more runs scored.

I think those 2 runs on the screw up by the LFer will prove very costly in the end. 5 runs vs 3 runs a big difference.

I think they both screwed up because it looked like neither one of them called for the ball expecting the other one to get it. It was the LF ball to catch but him and like everyone else thereand watching on TV was expecting Gordon to catch it.

Also, if Gordon jumps higher to catch the ball that would also help out a little, just sayin!

I guess could point to several things, but they are just eating our pitching alive. Big play was that called strike 3 which was ball 4 and turned into a double play. You go from bases loaded 1 out to end of inning.

    comeback??

is another Ga. comeback on the way?? 15-10 after 7 innings. Fresno's relief pitching looking weaker.

I believe I'll stay up and watch it.

    final in game 2

    Final score tonight:

    Fresno State 19
    Georgia 10

Took about 4.5 hours to play it out. Got a bit ragged.

Georgia had been ahead 5-0 early.

Final "rubber match" game Wed. night. Should be a good close to the 2008 college baseball season.
