Is it neon yellow/green or can it be another color. I have seen dark green, old gold and neon orange.

I'm rebuilding my field and didn't see anything in the rule book on color. Can someone help? Thanks!

are you talking about the top capping or wind screen? I don't think there are any restrictions on color but most schools try to go with team colors if they are available.

I don't know if there is a rule for it but we just got the field at out middle school back after 5 years of construction. The county put up a black fence so the AD went with bright yellow covers. I think the general idea was to make sure it sticks out enough so that a player running towards it will know where the fence is as well as protect them if they reach over it to catch a ball.

stuff. For the cheap stuff (the 250 coils of 4" PolyCap) they're only available in Yellow and Green (at least from any sources I know of). There's some more expensive stuff that comes in straight pieces that's available in more colors. The most expensive stuff (actual foam padding) is available in any color you want.

    Nice post Marky Mark......

quote].......good[/email] info and a distinguished statement to the mods to show that your intent in this post was not to sell. Props brother! Now, if the ball is yellow, and the roll on the fence is yellow all the way around?????.....can't the centerfield fence roll be black? and why are different colors more expensive? Nice post.

The black stuff is drainage pipe that's just been cut open. It's the same mold as the stuff specifically designed for fence protection, but the material is different - most specifically, it doesnt have UV inhibitors so it will break down in the sun over time.

The different colors aren't more expensive in and of themselves, they're just only available on more expensive products (there are other benefits other than just colors).

If it's not already cut open, it's drain pipe... Not only is it a bitch to install, it'll break down in a quarter of the time as the real thing. There's also an installation tool that lets you install it in half the time and saves your hands. They don't sell that at the plumbing supply house either. Smooth move.
