    How about the MECA 6???

haven't hear anything from the experts out there on this conference. North Meck, Central Cabarrus, JM Robinson, Hopewell, Vance and West Charlotte.

Central went several rounds into the State playoffs last year. Can they win the conference and go further?? How good will JM Robinson be in 2006 as a new member of this conference?? Can Hopewell pick up the pieces where they left off last year by sweeping the 2nd half of the season in the old MECA 8?? Will North Meck just re-load after loosing 6 or 7 seniors who moved on to play at the next level?? Can Vance, or West Charlotte continue there development and contend for a playoff berth??

Yankee, you are an expert about the MECA conference. I've been waiting to hear your thoughts.

Braves, some of us were wondering: Now that Braves, Jr. is in college, will your sandbagging begin earlier, later, or about the same time this season?!

Please respond, as NCBBallFan and I have a (very) small amount wagered on this. The only thing we're both certain about is the FACT of your sandbagging...

    Braves,

NCbaseball should know a lot more about who will fill the shoes at North Meck, and I have no knowledge on JM Robinson. Maybe someone will step forward and speak for that group.

I'm practicing my delivery on my home team.... and to get as good as you may take a while.

"...and to get as good as you may take a while."

Truer words have never been spoken, Yankees... and they apply to us all!

There's a term for Braves and NCBBallFan in this area: "Master Sandbagger"

It's will take me awhile to put together a scouting report for North Meck ...

I'll have to dig up all of our lines from 2003 when North was starting mainly sophomores. A couple come to mind.

"We're so young, they had to install an elevator since the pitcher couldn't climb the mound."

"We're so young, they serve the gatorade in sippy cups."

    -----------------------
Then again, they could be like a young Moses.

    Braves,

After several trips to the beach and around the conference this is my official report.

Central Cabarrus has got to be the favorite, they got hot at the end of the season last year and have most of those guys back. Lefty's Zack Parmer (spelling?) Wofford signee is back, along with Keith Carrigan. They will be strong.

North Meck though they lost a lot, 6 D1 signees, have some players to fill the holes - They might start out slow, but they'll come on for sure. Zach Pou who started in right field last year will probably see a lot of time on the mound with lefty Patrick Sherrill. A lot of young talent... just a matter of time.

Hopewell has several big holes to fill. Dusty White (UNCC) was the workhorse on the bump for Hopewell - Andy Oliver will attempt to fill those shoes. Hopewell appears to have lost Sr. lefty Brandon Harper (Francis Marion signee) to eligibility issues. So they have some holes to fill and have to start strong.

J.M. Robinson is a mystery to me as I know nothing about them. Maybe NCbaseball will conduct one of his clandestine undercover scouting missions and fill us in.

Vance suffered a huge loss with the departure of their coach. Wendell had the passion to start the ball rolling their and they were an up and comming program. They need to pick up the pieces quickly and keep building.

The West Charlotte program is improve for sure, the new coach last year was a definite improvment and they could prove dangerous to anyone who doesn't come to play. Several great athletes who just need some more playing time.

    I can't wait for 2/13/06.:weeping: :weeping:

    2nd: Central Cabarrus
    3rd: North Meck

The three will slug it out for the conference championship and entry into the state tournament. Good Luck to all!
