    SPC Conference

    Weddington 10-1 (@ Piedmont Friday @ 7:00)
Robinson 8-2 (vs Concord Friday and completion of game with Piedmont next week)
Piedmont 6-4 (vs Weddington Friday and completion of game with Robinson)
Sun Valley 6-5 (vs Parkwood Friday)
    Concord 3-7
    Parkwood 1-8
Anson 1-8 (There are some games between the bottom three that I do not know the results)

There are some positions up for grabs. If Piedmont beats Weddington and Robinson wins out then they would be tied for first. They split during the year, then what is the next tie breaker?

Also Piedmont could get second (with only two teams going to the playoffs) if Piedmont wins out and Robinson loses out. Piedmont could drop to 4th if they were to lose out.

Just a few other notes about the SPC to add to the confusion:

Conference officials have upheld Concord's protest against Sun Valley from an earlier game so Sun Valley's conference record is currently 5-5. SV and Concord will finish a game with SV leading 2-0 in the top of the 6th with Concord batting with 2 men on and 1 out. Lee Blalock of SV is the pitcher of record.

It is also my understanding that Robinson and Piedmont have to make up an earlier contest with Robinson leading 5-1 in the top of 5th with Robinson batting with bases loaded and no outs. Danny Herman is the pitcher of record for Piedmont, which means he has to throw at least one pitch. I'm also pretty sure that Piedmont would not be able to bring back the pitcher that started the game, whether it be Morgan Tyson or Timmy King.

If Weddington and Robinson do finish in a tie, the tiebreaker is first head-to-head, which they split. I think the 2nd tiebreaker would be how they did against the next place team. Assuming Robinson does go on to beat Piedmont, Robinson would have beaten Piedmont twice, whereas Weddington would have split with Piedmont. If Piedmont and SV tie for 3rd, then I'm not sure what the tiebreaker would be.

Remaining games for SWF 3A teams in contention:

    Crest: RS Central and Burns
    Burns: Kings Mountain and Crest
KM: Burns and Fred T. Foard
Hickory: St. Stephens and RS Central

Conference gets only 2 playoff spots. With a few upsets, 4 teams could finish as conference champs for the regular season at 8-4. Should be a wild finish.
