    Hopewell 7 - Vance - 1

    WP - Ryan Stage

Ryan pitched all 7 for Hopewell, looking in control the entire game. A few miscues by Hopewell allowed the one run by Vance in the 1st inning, but the defense settled down for the remainder of the game. Nice hitting by Dan Woodall and by Andy Oliver, who had several hits each.

    In the SPC tourny:
#5 seed Concord beat #4 Sun Valley 2-1. The winning pitcher was Andrew Ward for Concord who pitched a brilliant game. Privette threw a great game for Sun Valley as well. Just a hard fought game between two good teams.

#3 Piedmont beat #6 Anson 14-0 in 5 innings. Morgan Tyson pitched the shutout only allowing 3 hits and striking out 10. He also went 2 for 4 with a HR and 5 RBIs. Scott Estes went 2 for 2 with a HR and a ground rule double and also walked. Justin Perry went 2 for 2 with 2 walks, 4 runs total, and 3 RBIs.
