    Tri Seven Results (so far)

This conference looks to be very interesting (read that "a mess").

The regular-season Co-champions were Green Hope and Fuquay-Varina. Lee County was in 3rd and Apex was on the outside looking in.

Apex defeated Green Hope 3-2 in the conference tourney
Lee County pounded Fuquay-Varina 20-10 in the conference tourney.

Now Green Hope/Fuquay-Varina have to face off to see who is the #1 seed and who is the #3 seed. The #2 seed will be either Apex or Lee County as both favorites have bowed out of the tournament.

Don't know the regular season records for these teams right now. The conference championship is tonight.

    Meca-8 Championship game:

I normally just report the score's of the game, but tonight's contest was pure baseball heaven for a fan. Independence and North Meck locked up in an absolute WAR. Indy broke out on top in the bottom of the first, North Meck tied it at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd. Indy went back on top 2-1 in the bottom of the 2nd, North Meck took a 3-2 lead in the 4th. Indy came back and tied the game with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th. In the top of the 8th, North Meck pushed over a run to step out ahead 4-3. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th, Tournament MVP Andrew Starnes hit a shot down the 3rd base line that went all the way to the corner, plating 2 runs for a 5-4 Independence victory.

Tom Porter and Zach Farry started the game and battled all night. They both pitched their guts out, though neither had their "A" game. Neither was involved in the decision, with Porter coming out after 6 2/3 innings and Farry leaving after 7 1/3 inning.

Both teams hit the ball sharply all night long and made some outstanding defensive plays. This game was a joy to watch (unless you are a die-hard North Meck fan).

Congratulations to the Meca-8 Tournament Champions: Independence Patriots @ 23-2. The #2 seed coming out of the conference is North Meck at 22-4. Both teams looked ready for the next round !!!!!!

    JM Robinson--10
    Peidmont--0
    5 innings

    WP: McAteer
    LP: Parker

Bulldogs dominated from start to finish. Frankie McAteer threw a 2 hitter on the mound, and Charles Webber and Andy Benson led the Bulldogs offensivly both going 3-3.

JMR will play next tues vs. the #3 seed of the NPC (east rowan???)
