    People in the know this past weekend announced that Mendy will be attending WEstern Carolina University. Great ballplayer pitcher as well as all around. Watched her pitch this weekend and hit from both sides of the plate. Great catch for Coach Smith in her first recruiting class for WEstern. :woohoo:

    I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO UNC?? OH WELL, BEST OF LUCK TO HER AT WCU!!! THEY ARE PILLING UP SOME GOOD PLAYERS UP THERE. 1 OF THE BEST CATCHERS FROM THE 04 CLASS WILL BE ON THE FIELD AGAIN IN HEATHER PRITCHARD. ALSO I THINK ASHLEY ADAMS AND NIKKI BOST ( S.CALDWELL AND AC) WILL BE THERE TOO!!! SHOULD BE A FUN TEAM TO WATCH!!

    Makes sense . . . .

    given Megan Smith's connection with Chapel Hill. I suspect UNC-G might have also been in the picture were they still not "coachless". Great pickup for Western. Definitely an ACC-caliber talent. Should do have an immediate impact in the SoCon.

    Possibly, but maybe she thinks Coach Smith is the one (other than playing for The Heels) that she prefers to play for....Just a thought

    i am a little confussed! i checked the wcu softball web site and she is not on it! the 3rd baseman from c-c is on there. where ever she goes , i wish her the best, we we 1 of the few teams that beat her , even if it was last year.

    know Mendy well and also spoke with her at length; she signed to play @ WCU! the site should reflect this when Megan sits down long enough to do so. Coach Smith sure gets around the fields alot!!!
