Connor Narron to UNC Tarheels (update to O's)

    SOUTH HURRICANE SHORTSTOP CONNOR NARRON COMMITS TO TARHEELS

    July 16th - South Hurricane shortstop and CB Aycock product Connor Narron committed to The University of North Carolina Tarheels, and Head Coach Mike Fox. South Hurricanes Head Coach Doug Collins stated "Connor is one of the premier shortstops in the country, and we are thrilled that he is a part of the Hurricane organization. We think that this is a great fit for Connor, and the Tarheels. Connor puts in the effort on a day in, and day out basis. The effort and desire he has to get better will without a doubt take his game to very high levels over time. In the time Connor has been with us this summer he has really swung the bat well, and played shortstop as good as anyone could ask. It is a luxury having someone like Narron hitting in the middle of the order." Narron will be with the South Hurricanes all summer and fall in 2008.

    I'm assuming with his pedigree that he is likely to be drafted out of high school. For those that have seen him play, is he likely a early round pick after his senior year? It looks like he's got the body type for it.

    Connor has been listed by PG as officially signed for 650,000 dollars. Best of luck to him. Hope to see him play at Camden Yards someday.

    In my opinion, I don't think there was ever a doubt about him signing out of high school. The only questions were with whom and for how much? MLB is in the genes!

    Connor is playing in the Gulf Coast Rookie League for the Orioles. Got his first action today.
