The Copperheads will be hosting a hitting camp on February 3, 2007 from 10:00 to 3:00 at Hopewell High School. This camp will be for players ages 7-18. Depending on age, we will cover topics such as the swing mechanics, small ball (bunting, hit and runs), two-strike approach, pitch recognition, mental approach to hitting, etc.

Our staff will include current and former professional players, college coaches, and professional scouts. Headlining the speakers will be the
Washington Nationals second baseman Tony Womack. The former NL All-Star and World Series Champion will be speaking at the end of the clinic and signing autographs. This should be a great event to get your son or daughter ready for the upcoming season. Cost of the camp will be $65.00
if you pre-register, and $75.00 if you register the day of the camp. You can register by emailing Derek Shoe at [email protected] or calling him at 704-305-3649.

Dang Roc...you beat me to this. Thanks for getting this posted.

Derek Shoe is one of my favorite people. Most recently, he was the recruiting co-ordinator for the Pfeiffer program. Coach Shoe has a great rapport with young men and it's exciting to see him connected with the Copperhead program.

For those that want to develop a better swing and to have a better approach at the plate...this is the perfect camp to attend.

Thanks for posting this info. I would like my son to try one sometime but that day is bad for Triad boys. Impact is also having something that day and our HS coaches push that avenue.

My son attended this camp today and it was well worth the money. Tony Womack was not able to attend, but they had a former Mariner (Jeff Schafer?) speak to start the clinic. He did a great job. I think the kids learned a lot as well as the parents who were encouraged to follow their sons through the stations. At the end of the clinic Ray Durham was there and signed autographs for many of the players. All in all I would like to give these guys a thumbs up and thank them for their efforts.
