east rowan fans, how good is this guy??? it seems like every time i read a boxscore or pick up a newspaper he is in there and has just shut the opposition down. just curious because i always associate the names micah jarrett and justin roland with east rowan but it seems like this guy is a stud as well and may be underrated. how hard does he throw? how old is he? will he be pitching in college next year?

This from a Mooresville Supporter. He is the real deal and he is only a junior. I have had the privledge of watching Corbin participate in baseball since he was about 10 years old and he has always been dominant. He has played tons of baseball and is as good as they come. I would say definite DI potential. Not too hard of a thrower but location, location and as smart as they come on the mound.

Corbin is a junior who is about 6'1'' or 6'2'' and already being recruited by South Carolina, Clemson, Charlotte, Wake Forest, Elon, as well as others.
He tops out around 88 or 89 and has a hard slider and change up. He is the real deal and will only get a lot better because he is only a 16 year old junior.

Good student as well. He is 9-0 with an era of about 1.00. Coach Hightower at East held him out earlier in the year because he was experiencing some shoulder discomfort. I say this because his record could be more impressive. Once the season started he pitched 20 scoreless innings. He always pitched the tough games for East.

He is good, if I'm not mistaken, most of his earned runs allowed came in only one game (against NW at their place).

Sounds like an excellent pitcher, I'd like to come see him throw. Will he be throwing on 3 days rest in round 2 or do I need to wait until round 3 to see him?

East Rowan is loaded with pitching so I would think he would be throwing game 3......provided they get there.

Agreed, East Rowan uses about 5 pitchers, so whatever their outcome will be in round 2, win or lose, East don't have to throw nobody on 3 days.

Btw, Roland may be going to Charlotte to play SS, but he actually could pitch in college if he wanted. But he is one heckuva SS.
