    Why did somebody have to go and call out a coach for "affecting" loss? [Wow - I see that sentence has now suddenly disappeared. Hum...]

    But to the person who originally did name a coach, how about how many wins the guy has affected? How about how many players he has helped develop and get to the next level? Oops, I forgot... high school coaches don't do thaaaat. Showcase coaches, personal trainers and dads do that. High school coaches just drive busses, sit on buckets, and use (up) the "talent" that comes their way.

    Very Simple:
    Coach makes the decisions, 20 (give or take) Players who all feel they should be starting. 9 positions available on field, 40 (give or take) Parents that KNOW their kids should be starting. No win situation for the Coach whatever he decides.

    West Forsyth has released their rosters and it is great to see Jack Crook back from shoulder surgery and on the team. Nice to add a lefty to an already deep pitching staff - let the fun begin.

    We'll see North Davidson and Reagan next week - if the rain allows - but I can go ahead and assure you West is going to be just fine... or at least they were last night, as they thoroughly handled the Cats. They pitched it, hit it, and made every play.

    By my count 7 of the 11 teams in that poll lost in the first week and one lost twice. South Meck gets a pass as they did lose to Weddington which was on top of their 3A poll and the team they think is the best in NC. Better luck next week.

    After one week of conference play all of the teams in the CPC are 1-1 in conference play. As we said before the season started it is going to be an interesting year and will no doubt go down to the last week of the season.

    Current standings

    North Davidson 4-2
    Reynolds 4-2
    West Forsyth 4-2
    Davie 3-3
    Reagan 2-4
    Mt Tabor 1-5

    North Davidson and Reynolds face off this week and North Davidson gets West Forsyth next week. Will be interesting to see who will get the top two seeds in the conference tournament and their will be a very good team left out of the playoffs in a couple of weeks.
