    I dont think so, I think once the game's been played it's final. But on the bright side, Crest doesnt make any money off this.

    sucks, but at least they had the nads to blow the whistle on themselves. still shouldn't have done that.

    My opinion

    I can't believe that Grimsley gets a bye into the BIG game. Reynolds and S. Caldwell should be irate (I know they are!!!). I wonder when Crest knew of the ineligible player?
    I think Reynolds and S. Caldwell should get to flip a coin to see who plays Grimsley tonight, but obviously it's too late. This sad all the way around.

    Statement from the Cleveland County Schools...

    Crest High School Forfeits Playoff Football Game
    Crest High School determined today that a football team player is academically ineligible to play and notified the N.C. High School Athletic Association. This action means that the school is out of NCHSAA playoffs and must forfeit all games during the season.

    Principal Roger Harris informed students today about 1:45 p.m. shortly after football team members were informed they would not be playing in tonight’s game against Grimsley in the state playoff games.

    “Honor and integrity are what we’re about and more important than winning ball games,” Mr. Harris said. “We discovered we had an ineligible player and we did what the rules say you do. This year’s team turned a challenging season around, and I have no doubt these boys would have gone all the way.”

    Superintendent Gene Moore said the school is to be commended for their integrity and for doing the right thing in notifying the NCHSAA.

    Crest should be suspended from post season play for the next two seasons.
