Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Smash, I don't think I was on here trying to say our team is "perfect" however when several teams are complaining about the way another team acts, I would have to believe that team does have a problem. As for what you are claiming was said by one of our players, maybe it was said, however I can gaurantee you if it was said it was only said after one of your players or coaches kicked, cussed, or punched him as they did all night! I also heard one of your coaches tell his own players to shut the _____ up as they were going into the locker room at halftime. Funny none of our other opponents have ever complained about our actions, but several of Crest opponents have talked about their lack of class.....Yeah, it was all ACR's doing!

I can understand people wanting to vent their anger and naming players may seem justified because of their actions, but I ask that you guys not do so. We've prided ourselves not to attack a player (no matter how justified) and would like to continue this path.

    Sadly enuf!!!!!!!!

From 15 years exp on the football baseball and baseball fields/courts in NC ONLY in football do I know and hear the classlessness that prevails EVERYWHERE not just at CREST but everywhere! Sorry guys few football programs in this state i believe are CLASSy programs that do not have the profanity and the utter treatment / disrespect for coaches and opposite their players! That is one reason I got out of football over five six years ago! In addition parents are to blame just as much as the administration because they turn the other way! How sad! JMHO and fact!!!!!!!!!

Didn't say it wasn't done, yes in the heat of battle it is done. BUT no team has ever come to ACR and acted and treated our players the way they were treated. Yes, bad language has been said at times, but never have we had a team and coaches act like the Crest player and coaches acted.

Poetic justice for a program full of imbecillic low lives.

In terms of people not knowing the grade situation I call nonsense. Every grade that every kid in school gets from every class gets entered into a system called NC Wise. In other words, a kids grades are entered for every homework assignment, exam, and quiz. Every faculty member in the school has access to it as well. So, I call BS. Fact is, Kirby tried to sneak it by and someone caught him after the fact. It is rumored that the basketball coach caught him and turned him in. Kirby's a snake and will do anything to win. He's pissed off a lot of people around the state as well as Cleveland county. My sources say that the superintendants office is strongly considering his removal. Apparently the whole things going to blow wide open. Some are saying Crest has been using ineligible players for some time now. Remember, you heard it hear first. Kirby will be gone by January.

There's more trouble in Chargerland. It was the hoops coach that turned Kirby in.

Ya know, not every kid at Crest is an imbecile. However, a kid at this level will do whatever his coach will tolerate. It seems as if Kirby will tolerate just about anything. Ya ya ya we all know he's a great X's and O's guy, but for gods sake man run a clean program.

    Wrapped around their fingers

I was on the field and the talk was going on all night. Both teams wanted to make the other believe that they were the big dog on the block, and both sides had no trouble telling the other about it.

The Crest kids saw the sign on the internet that someone had made out of the Reynolds sign. They took it to heart. Even if it's a fake, you've got highschool kids getting on the internet at school and at home thinking it's the real deal.

That was the reason both squads didn't shake hands. Coach Kirby chewed teh Crest kids out on the field right after the game, and from what I have heard, met with the Reynolds coach after the game.

I have been to football games all over the state. I have seen dirty teams, and I have seen teams that are class acts all the way. But people are acting like Crest in the dirtiest team in the state. I'm not saying that they are angels, but few are. I know that I have seen kids do things on the field that I don't approve of for Crest, but I also know that I have seen those same kids paying for it on practice on Monday.

I think we have a situation where Crest got comfortable in their success. I know that there was a checklist in place. I have even talked to Coach Kirby about this happening at Crest when you hear that it has gone on somewhere else. He was confident that Crest had it's ducks in a row to keep it from happening.

Do people really believe that Roy Kirby would jepordize his job, trouble for the school he attended to cover grades for a kid. I know they have had players not play in the past for grades. Why would this time be different? Some say that it's because it was a star player. I have heard from some folks very close to the situation that it wasn't a star player. The kid didn't even start. I can't confirm or deny that, but I trust the folks that told me. I have also seen the work that Roy Kirby has done behind the scenes for kids that need the help. Not only in the world of football.

Roy Kirby is a husband, a father, and a friend to many. He loves being in Boiling Springs, and has had the chance to leave for higher paying, higher profile jobs. But his family is here. His dad was standout player at Gaffney, and later a preacher in the area. Preacher and Mrs Kirby are in poor health now. Why would he put into jeopardy a job that allows him to stay close to them as well as be successful? His wife is the minister of music at their church and loves it. Again, why put that into jeopardy?

I may know Roy Kirby better than others and it is more that just the football field, heck our kids go to preschool together, but I really believe that an honest mistake was made. Are their questions, yes their is. Some that I would like answered, and hopefully those answers will come sooner rather than later. And somebody will have to be held accountable. If there was a big cover-up then jobs should be lost. But if this was a mistake made on paperwork, then you fix the problem and move on. Those wheels are already in motion.

Somebody wanted to act like there was a big riff now with Coach Kirby and Coach Ellis. Coach Ellis has been a huge supporter of the football team and Coach Kirby of the basketball team. Both send their kids to play the other sport. Coach Ellis was recognized with an award at the football banquet last year by Coach Kirby. Coach Ellis is always working the football games and they both know that success in one can spread to the other.

I too will sit and watch as it unfolds, but I know that when the Crest coaches found out about this, they said that they didn't want to put the future of Crest football in a bad light. That a wrong had been found and it had to be reported. How easy it would have been to play out the season, and then pop up and say "Look what we found. Sorry about that." I think word may have gotten back to the Crest staff late Thursday, early Friday. They then had to confirm what was going on, and as soon as they did, reported it.

This has been a tough time for all that are close to the Crest program. My entire family went to Crest.
My step-kids attended Crest. I want my children to attend Crest. Our loyalties to Crest High run far deeper than the football field. My heart bleeds for the kids that got the news yesterday. The kids that couldn't hold back tears as adults tried to explain what had happened. If you are a parent, put yourself in that spot.

The Crest community must rally around each other and these kids. I can tell you that this already happening. And things are being done to make sure that this doesn't happen again. I am a true believer that Good will come out of bad situation, and this is a dark time for Crest High.

I know that some are going to blast you regardless, and I didn't mean to mention the Reynolds players name. I was typing and trying to get ready for work and wrestle 2 kids. I'm glad that somebody caught that, but I will not sit by and not defend my school. Others would do the samething. Esp. when faced this type of problem.

I'll just say, that I'm still a Charger, loud and proud, and will be even with this is over.

Again good luck to all of the teams playing next week. I am planning on being in Chapel Hill for the 2A title games.

We have some of the best prep football posters in the world here, and most of you :D I would consider a friend, and we have never met.
