I have no dog in this fight, so I am certainly not biased. But I would like to say a few things. Based on what's happened with Crest, I certainly understand the anger from their post season opponents. We witnessed this in American legion baseball and we see it again in HS football. I'm not here to cast stones at any particular person because I don't know the facts. I find it inconceivable that any coach would willingly play an illegal player at the risk of hurting his other players, school and jeopardizing his job....some of you think otherwise.

I allow posters to vent their anger...to a point. One can state their opinion, but posting rumors, attacks on players or pounding the same point over and over is not right. If you feel a need to express anger...post it...then move on.

Keep this in mind. How would you feel if you woke up the next day and read something in the paper or on the internet that your son is an imbecile, cheater, low life, no class thug. I don't think you'll have a happy day! Most of these players are 15-16 years old...they're kids. Yes, they are shaped and molded by their parents and coaches...but they're kids. They make mistakes. If any of you guys think you were angels when you were that age....you must be too old and your selective memory is astounding.

Jinx- Welcome to the board. What cfball was referring to was hoping that you didn't sign up as a member for the sole purpose to answer this thread. We are glad that you joined and hope that you contribute to all the forums and become a participant in all of the threads...not just one that elicits your anger.

I feel for the Crest Players.. Alot of hard work went into the season for a lot of kids.. If I am a Crest parent, I know one football coach who better have some good answers.... I would like to see Crest be on a year or 2 probation. This would make coachs be a little more accountable... I also think any ref. that hears a player tell a coach to **** his***. should take action. Take this trash out of the game as much as possible!!!!! High School Football!!!!! WOW!!!!! I know Crest used to love to run the score up on us, but I still wouldnt wish this on anyone!!! not even CREST!!!!!!!

According to the Crest student handbook, The Crest Academic Catalog, and the Teacher Handbook, the student at Crest was eligible to play. The only lines about academics and sports state that the player must pass 3 of 4 classes and be on pace to graduate. These are the 2005/2006 books that they using, and the ones that the coaches had. It's the same in the Burns books as well. Shelby's is worded different, but they have a different type of schedule. I just finished reading them.

Why didn't these books state the rules that Cleveland County was playing under clearly? I know that members of the school board have been aware of this as well as the paper. Will be interesting to see what happens next.

Whatever happens. It has to be fixed so that young people don't have to go through it again.
