    he left out another change: * pitchers will be only allowed to pitch one game per week. :xyzthumbs

    Another change is wooden bats must be used and the home team gets 4 outs.

    And the parents finally got their way: all players have to play at least one inning or bat one time each game.

    That's CRAZY, you mean to tell these same old cry baby parent's are going to get their way? What happen to working hard to make a school team? They are old enough to know what being cut means and sitting the bench means.
    This is a fact of life. Your either good enough to get the job or your not. There is more to softball than just playing. School ball is not rec-ball !
    That is going to tie alot of coaches hands. Why are we trying to change what works?

    If that is true you will see coaches carry less players (if they are smart) Marginal players who would have made the team and had the chance to improve will be cut so as not to take away playing time from the starters in an important game. STUPID RULE but I think ACFAN is just pulling our legs or at least I hope he is.
    I also heard they are going to make the face mask mandatory. Don't like that one either. we're not playing football

    mask are necessary and acfan and the rest of us are picking at our friends from RR TBR who have concerns and know the game well!

    It's ok. I have spoken with Chapel Hill and right now the only change in fastpitch softball is the mask for 2006. They just got back from the federation meetings and the above was not even discussed.They said if such a change would be made it would be a sudden change made this summer. But to this point it has not been discussed. They said it is illegal and why would you change sometyhing to make it legal. Also teach the right things and they don't need the extra.Remeber it is an umpires judegement and we know how that varies at times. We have a great game as it is. Also the bases are already at 60 feet.
