I heard a rumor that catawba valley community college was starting a baseball program. Is there any truth behind that? Seems like some pretty good talent in that area.

I've heard the same thing the last three years. Of course, they don't have a place to play/practice - just a softball field. The old rumor spoke of using the Legion fairgrounds field. We'll see.

They just announced they are starting a baseball program in the fall of 2009. No more details yet, but anyone interested in coaching them should contact the school.

Frank Pait? You've got to be kidding! One of my favorite people, but I can't understand this move by Coach Pait. I guess the counselor part is what sold him. It's an interesting move

Hopefully, CVCC will take over the American Legion Fairgrounds field. The playing conditions have gotten kind of bad the last couple of years. It needs attention year round and CVCC has an excellent turf grass management program. In the short run anyway, it could be a win-win situation for the school and the Legion Field folks.

Have they changed anything with state requesting them to cut 3 to 4% in spending due to the budget? Would thought this may affetct them as well as others programs or not. Go this to hear though any idea who would be on thier schedule?
