    WOW Texas

    What an ending.

ASU leads Tx 3-2 after 8 1/2. ASU freshman lefty reliever had completely closed Tx down for 3 innings.

Tx hits 2 solo HR's in bottom of the 9th to win 4-3.

    That's baseball.

So it's LSU vs. Texas in the best of 3 for the national championship. They are probably the best 2 Div 1 teams in 2009.

LSU has cruised, while Texas has clawed.

What a game, what a comeback. What an honor to play for Augie -

Who are the best college baseball coaches of all time? Some considerations....in no particular order

    Wayne Graham - Rice
    Cliff Gustafson - Texas
    Augie Garrido - Texas
    Skip Bertman - LSU
    Ron Polk - Mississippi State

    the USC coach

You certainly named some very good ones, but you forgot probably the greatest of all. Rod Dedeaux of the USC Trojans. He coached through the 1986 season and left behind a record that may never be surpassed. He had winning seasons in 41 of his 45 years--in one stretch, USC went 37 years without a losing campaign. His 1,332 wins (with only 571 losses and 11 ties) were more than any other Division I coach in history until Texas' Gustafson eclipsed the mark in 1994. Dedeaux won 11 NCAA DIV 1 national championships at USC (actually 10 of his own and co-coached on the other one). Pretty impressive.

Others : Mike Martin at Fla. St. (but no national titles)

and I liked Ron Fraser at Miami; won national titles plus did wonders for the college game with innovations, helped get TV coverage, just a great ambassador for the game.

    schedule of the championship round

if the 2 CWS brackets are decided with each winner at 3-0 on Fri. (as happened this year) why don't they take only Sat. off and start the championship round on Sunday, instead of waiting til Monday?

I know rain could make an extra day necessary, and same if there's a "if" game to decide a bracket.

Just seems if you are LSU & Texas, and you've already been there well over a week already, it just seems like the wait on Sat. and Sun. would get a bit old.

I suppose it's all about TV and $, and it does give an extra day to rest pitching arms.

    Media $$$ Rules

Media needs time to gather all of the feel good stories and Visagoth State needed time to recover from their Gladiator Games. Good Gravy those commercials stink!

I'd love to see them play right away - but it should be a good series. Those LSU Bats are white hot!

why do they let so many strikes go by?????? swing the bat!!

    oh yes.........LSU wins 7-6.

Hanover gets assist on the last out, a simple groundout.

    Texas hit 5 solo HR's.

P.S. Is it just me or my imgination; the players for LSU and Texas made the Tar Heels players look like midgets in comparison?
