Make your predictions....who takes home the hardware and why?

    Here are the brackets:

I've gotta go with Clemson....Coach Leggett has his guys on a roll and I think they have the overall package when it comes to pitching, hitting and defense.

I know they don't have the pitching depth of North Carolina or Cal State but I feel it's Clemson's time.

    University Of North Carolina Baby!!!!!

They've got it all. They are actually a better team now than they were a few weeks ago. Cavasinni has become a top college player, they have the pitching depth that you must have and some real quality players, but two are really special; Horton and Flack. Horton is an unbelievable leader; he finds a way to win. Chad Flack can make adjustments from pitch to pitch. There was a time that Chad struggled a little bit with the outside pitch, but he has learned to drive the ball oppo and has become one of the most dangerous hitters in the country......plus, Chad is such a nice young man that you have to cheer for this kind of guy. He reminds me of Troy Glaus (sp) Chad could play any position in the infield, too. They are so deep with hitters that Matt Spencer (who would be an everyday player at most schools) comes off the bench. They have Kyle Shelton, Garrett Gore and Bryan Steed alternating at positions and it seems they always get the job done. Seth Williams finally looks comfortable at the plate coming back from injury and the 2 catchers have been phenomenal. I believe when Tim Federowicz (FedEx) finishes his career, he will set many, many hitting records at UNC.

Geez...it's tough to find many holes in their roster. Their achilles heel may be their defense. They are prone to blow up in an inning with multiple errors...but the same player that made the error will come back with a ML play to save a run.

If Miller can get by Cal State...they are off to the..err..uhh...steaks of Omaha.

BTW, I hope that Prepster plans on giving us a detailed synopsis of each games he sees.

I hope the baseball gods agree with you on this one. I think they have to talent, but Clemson just hasn't done well once reaching Omaha in years past. Hopefully, this will be their year. :fingerscrossedsmilethingy

I just hope UNC and Clemson gets a chance to hook up. Two best teams in the ACC, probably the two best teams in the country and they haven't played a game all season.

I'm with you, Dbacks20. I can't go against Leggett and Sully. Those guys truely deserve their success. I hate that I can't go this year. I've been two out of the last three years and never had a team to root for. What a great experience! Go Tigers!

Has an ACC team ever won the College World Series? I don't think they have (Miami not being counted)
