    "Go Beavers!"

A couple of facts to consider:
    (1) If UNC starts the same lineup it's been starting in Omaha tomorrow, 9 of its 10 starting players come from North Carolina. On Saturday and Sunday (if necessary), all 10 of 10 will be North Carolinians.

    (2) Unless you "grandfather" Miami into consideration, no ACC team has won the national championship in baseball since 1955.

I find it relatively easy to pull for NC State because I had a son go there and we have some very good friends who play baseball there. But, even if that weren't the case, it's hard for me to imagine that I'd pull for a team of Pacific Northwesterners given the considerations just mentioned.

In any case, we'll persevere regardless of who does or doesn't support us. The sort of facts you mention make us very respectful of our opponent this weekend. We still have a lot of work to do.

    Local Talent

I have been and will continue to pull for North Carolina. It has been great to see the local kids do so well. Seeing Cavi, Fronk, Bard, Woodard etc... doing so well is really nice. Having seen these boys play little league and high school ball and now on the national stage is great. I don't consider myself a band wagon fan since I have been a fan of these players for a while now. Prepster, tell them all good luck from a 49er fan!

    I'm an ABC'er & proud of it.

no disrespect, but I could never pull for UNC in anything. Anybody But Carolina.

    wow

the Heels just keep finding ways to win. Pretty amazing as tough as Miller is he has two no decisions and really hasn't pitched that well. But the Heels still put a W on the board. That bullpen has been awesome.

But man when Miller is on he looks like Superman out there. He had a stretch from the middle of the third to the start of the fifth where he made the OSU hitters look silly.

Here's to Woodard closing the door on this series tonight.

Thats ok.. maybe one day you will have a son or daughter , grandson or granddaughter
and your neighbors and friends just might decide to go ahead and pull for them to be successful regardless of the college or university they attend..

I wonder how many people actually get to live out a dream that they had.

To be able to start and potentially throw the last pitch to win the College World Series is something that nobody other than Robert Woodard has a chance to experience today.

Mark my words. I have been saying this for 5 years now. Robert Woodard gets better as the game gets bigger...today is his day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring home the :trophy: and I want pics on TBR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well said IC....

but I understand East Of Raleigh. It's hard for me to pull for Clemson in anything...but I cheer for the players that I know on their teams.

It's a time honored blood oath that Wolfpacks don't cheer for Tar Heels. They get kicked out of the alumni if they dare mention anything close to support for the Baby Blue

that was brutal watching that 4th inning.

Hindsight does you no good but I'm betting Fox wishes he had left Woodard in there. He wasn't pitching his best but I bet he would have gotten three outs without giving up five more runs.

The wheels came off tonight - way too many mental mistakes.

Bard hasn't looked his best the last couple of times out so he's due to have a good game plus Fox saved his pen other than Danford so he has Bard, Hovis, Carignan set to go.

OSU burned out their pen tonight but now it's down to guts and adrenaline. Can't imagine this Heels team playing two bad ones in a row. But tomorrow nights game is going to be intense every pitch.
