Czech Republic National Amateur Team

    This team is coming to America to play in the Jimmy Grimsley Easter Tournament in Greenville. They will also be playing against New Hanover HS and the Purpose Driven Showcase team at Mudcats Stadium as well as being hosted by Charlotte Christian. They still have 3 dates to fill if any high school team would be interested in hosting them. The dates available are March 30th April 1st and April 8th. If you are interested please send me an email [email protected] This team is being sanctioned by the NC High School Athletic Association.

    Mudcats Stadium Game

    WOW...what a great time I had today umpiring the game between Purpose Driven Showcase and the Czech Republic team. The Carolina Mudcats rolled out the red carpet for these two teams to play at beautiful 5 County Stadium.

    Watching the Czech kids play without speaking english was awesome. Their skills were very good even though I thought the speed of the american game is a little to fast for them BUT they compete hard. Very very nice kids and coaches.

    Thanks go to Jay Stott for all he does to make the Czech feel at home.

    This team played 10 games during their trip to the USA....anyone else see them play?

    I had heard that Deez had worked out with them and picked up some cool Czech words

    Stretchy... We had the Czech Team here in Raleigh at St. David's School on Thursday and it was a great experience for everyone there. Their leadoff batter shook hands with Will before the first pitch which I don't believe has ever happened before. As for the game, we didn't show them much southern hospitality handing them an 18-5 loss. Like today, both teams exchanged small gifts and posed together for a picture after the game.
