    Early round scores:
    South Carolina squeezed out a run in the 9th to top Michigan 6-5.

    Miami (Ohio) came out flat. They were soundly beaten by Arkansas 9-5

    Winthrop squeezed by a tough Witchita State team 2-1

    Auburn crushed USA 13-5

    2nd games are all underway.

    First day upset....

    Oklahoma beat Southern Miss 5-4

    Furman and Georgia Tech are tied at 4-4 going into the 10th.

    Tulane beat Southern 17-7

    It took them 10 innings but Georgia Tech, the #2 team in the nation, finally squeezed by the very hot Furman team. Furman was the first team in the SOCON to win the conference tournament coming out of the #8 seed.

    Final: Georgia Tech 5, Furman 4 (10 innings)

    Furman is proving that they are no fluke. That was a great game.

    Good start for the Heels. Woodard saves the bullpen with a great game, the defense came up with a big play (gasp) in the sixth to stifle a Notre Dame rally and Greg Mangum, of all people, homered.
