I have to agree with you, not saying they would win the ACC easily but they would give a lot of upper teams in the ACC all they could handle.

Dave Thomas of Catawba was the Coastal Plains MVP last summer. Check out the rosters. Plenty of D1's.

My son is nothing more than a solid D2 player. He made his wood bat league all star team the last two summers. D1's abounding.

That would be the main reason. But the other part is when the school that is D1 offers a scholarship but does not offer the major you are interested in, but the D2 does.

If you read, you will see that I was not referring to a year-to-year basis, when I said on a regular basis. I mean in 2008, if the teams played 100 times, Francis Macon wouldnt lose all 100 games, but they would not beat them with any type of frequency. Sure, they would pull an upset here and there, but wouldn't beat them on a regular basis.

As for the rest of you, I already said in my posts that the top D2 teams can play with the bottom D1 teams. I also said there is nothing wrong w/ D2 baseball.

I said that the only problem starts when the D2 folks start acting like their teams can play with the ACC teams.

I'm a firm believer that Mount Olive would not be competitive in the ACC. They wouldn't lose every single game or anything, but they wouldn't be near the .500 mark.

Mount Olive would be honored to be given the chance to take their licks in the ACC though, rather than dominating their current conference.

Ourpasttime, the point is that Braves never once said Francis Marion would beat Clemson regularly this year or any other year which is what you read into it. He asked if you had watched Francis Marion (which you haven't answered as far as I can tell) and then said they would battle in the ACC (not necessarily win but not blowouts either) and then said Clemson would struggle in some of the D2 conferences (which may or may not include Francis Marion's conference). You took those two points and combined them but they are not necessarily dependent points. One can be true without the other being true. For example, you may not have seen Francis Marion play and Clemson might struggle in the SAC conference which doesn't include Francis Marion.

And for the record, ourpasttime, how many times did you watch Mt. Olive, Francis Marion, Tusculum, or Catawba play this year?

HAHA thats funny. Not saying MOC would win it with a 58-6 record because yes it is the ACC but you think they wouldn't even make it to .500 is crazy, especially since you haven't seen them play or maybe we forgot they are the D2 National Champions. Maybe it's me along with some more people but I think they would be a lot better than a sub .500 team in the ACC.
