Daniel Bard makes Team USA

    Former Charlotte Christian player and UNC freshman pitcher Daniel Bard was selected to play this summer for Team USA. Daniel was invited to tryouts and pitched against a Canadian team. Newspaper reports that he hit 97mph once and 96mph several times in his two scorless innings of work. He gave up no hits and no runs during his stint. I can't remember Team USA's schedule exactly, but I think that they play in Japan and end up the summer playing in Durham, NC. What a great honor for Daniel to go along with his first team All ACC, Rookie of the Year-ACC and Freshman All American honors. Congratulations Daniel!!
