Daniel Whitecavage has become one of the best hitters in the state. Daniel formerly played his college ball at Surry CC where he was a great hitter and was the heart of the offense. Daniel has recently decided to take his talents to St. Andrews college. plays his summer ball at
Hopewell high school with the lkn copperheads (scbl). Daniel leads the scbl batting over .400 with wood bats. prob the toughest out in the game today. He has become a pitchers nightmare. so with all this said. congrats to Daniel for all the hard work he has put in. That is why he is where he is at today. St. Andrews got a steal with this kid. Dont take my word for it all. Just look at the stats and come see him play for youself. He is in action tonight @ Hopewell high against Statesville owls 7 pm. If he dosent go 4 for 4 im buying everyone hotdogs:SCA+HL:

Had very good stats at Surry. Surry has pulled some good players over the years.

    I'll take 2 with mustard.......

As a general rule of thumb......humble is better than being overbearing. Daniel is an awesome kid who is as humble as he is good on the diamond and in the classroom. I'm sure he doesn't enjoy this kind of attention or his fan screaming at the opposing pitcher when he gets one of his many hits.

    Charlotte Stars Megan Whitecavage
Has anyone seen this young lady play? I have not had a chance to see her personally. I have heard that she is the real deal. Not sure of her age but i think she has just entered middle school in huntersville nc. she is a catcher with a cannon for an arm. Her brother is a all conference catcher and MLB prospect now playing for Hopewell High school.(senior). Megan is one we will all need to watch real close as she will be playing high school softball somewhere in Huntersville im pretty sure.

why not a real college team?

If Daniel is as good as you say, why isn't he playing D!?

Please reply that his reason is academics. I am trying to get my boy who is the best in Imeck in baseball to work hard studying.

    Thanks you all

You must be Ryder Ryan's dad. He is the only player in Imeck that Perfect Game rates as a 10 on their 1 - 10 scale and highly ranked nationally. Grades are important for D1. However RR will get drafted and will have to make choice between draft and college.

Nobody knows why Daniel wasn't picked up by a D1 school, it sure wasn't because of accademics. Daniel graduated with a 4.6 gpa all in honors and AP classes. Daniel lead his high school team in BA and played all positions including pitcher where he had a 2.35 ERA.
It just goes to show that some recruters can't see the forest for the trees.
Oh Yeah, Daniel also won the HR derby this year in the SCBL where he completed the season hitting over .400 and was picked as an ALL Star.

    Meghan Whitecavage

    Hey Big Stars,

Had a chance to see Meghan Whitecavage in her first start as a Hopewell Titan today. She didn't start as catcher but at first base as a Freshman. Meghan had a solid day batting 5th in the Varsity line up and hitting 2 Home Runs in her first 2 at bats. Meghan finished the game going 3-4 with 2 HR 1 single and 3 RBI's.
I guess you called it when you mentioned her potential when she was in JH. Can't wait to see her catch!
