Curry is Pistol Pete reincarnated. He's just uncanny at splitting seams & shooting off balance. Cinderella just showed up at the dance.

    Story

What a great story! I used to go to every Davidson game in the days of Fred Hetzel, Barry Teague, Terry Holland, etc. They played at the Cricket Arena at that point a great deal. Saw Charlie Scott beat them with last second shot! Always had that hardnose, we can win approach and these kids are right there!
Hope to see them at final four along with UNC, what a great thing for the schools and NC!:clown7:

was the headlines in The Charlotte Observer when they beat Duke in the coliesum back in the 60's. I remember all those players also Abbey Fan, plus Mike Maloy, Brian Adrain, Don Davidson, Rodney Knowels, Dick Snyder. Charlie Scott almost came to Davidson. I was in the Coffee Cup Resturant in Davidson when Lefty came in with Scott. I thought sure he would sign with Davidson, but decided to go to UNC. My uncle was the equiptment manager at Davidson back then, and I would visit him at the college. Got to meet a lot of the players, and coaches. Went to all the home games and lot of the games at the old charlotte coliesum. Of course all of this was before I got into softball.

wow, didnt know there was anyone out there that remembered that Duke Game. Think it was December 60. Duke was ranked 2nd, and had two all Americans....Jeff Mullins and Art Heyman. Lefty was in his third year. First year he won 12 games with a team that won 3 the year before, including beating #2 ranked Wake (with Packer) in his very first college game. 2nd year he recruited. Frosh couldnt play so it was in his 3rd year that the Hetzel team came out. That Duke game was the greatest game played in Charlotte, Davidson won 72 - 69.

Davidson loses to Kansas 59-57 in a breath taking finish. The Wildcats had a remarkable season. Winning 25 straight games (the longest winning streak in the nation) before falling to Kansas. Congratulations to Coach McKilop and his Davidson Wildcats.

One I lll always remember...it would have been great to watch them at least ONCE more but what a team THEY CAN play with anyone in the country PERIOD!!!!!!
