    2012 left-handed hitting shortstop DC Arendas recently made a verbal commitment to the Gamecocks at University of South Carolina. Arendas is a 3-year veteran of the Dirtbags program.

    Great kid from great family. Great ballplayer, too (duh!) Can't believe the Tarheels let him get away, considering his dad works for them. I guess Uncle Chad found some way to lure him south.
