Now that's commitment! I'm betting that's paying off for her, too.

Unfortunately, most kids I know don't have that kind of budget. That's another reason for relaxing those rules; so they can work with us volunteers and/or near-volunteers.

If you read the rules closely, they state any one associated to the high school team.. even parent volunteers. So if I help my HS, I cant work with my TB team that has girls from the HS on it. :lalala: Crazy!

I thought we wanted people to donate their time to the schools, just be careful it you do!

well, i understand you view, but lets look at theirs.......say you have a head coach who is a teacher (most school districts now require this). say your assistant coach and or volunteer coach is a travel ball coach and the only reason he/she is not the head coach is because he/she is not a teacher. if the rule didnt apply to any volunteer coach or parent associated with the team, it would give that particular team an advantage over the rest. see, thats really what the rule is about, an unfair advantage over another team.

now, i know of two guys who were assistant coaches who traded teams during the dead period and trained each others kids.....perfectly legal and showed that these two guys were in it for the kids, not themselves.

i dont agree with some of the rules, but they are there to make it as much of a level playing field for everyone as they can.

i also followed them, because the penalty for getting caught punished the girls more than the coach. not worth it period in my eyes, but then, i was there for the kids.......
