Deal named new coach at Patton

Chris Deal has been named the new coach at Patton High in Morganton. Deal has been at Lexington for the last 3 seasons and before that was the head coach at Alexander Central. Good hire for Patton !!!

 

Coach Deal seems to be a great hire for Patton. All I know of him is what others say about him. I do know that he was and should've been the head coach at Freedom last year. He was offered the job, accepted and presented to the school board. After the closed session Freedom came out with Mike Helms...

thanks for the info Wise One. i heard that coach Adkins had went back to Salisbury after the season was over.

 

Adkins could end up as the next head coach there. As for Deal, he is one hell of a football coach. Look for him to make Patton a force in their league even though Shelby is a load every year. He won't take any shortcuts and the kids will have to follow the rules with no exceptions or they won't cut it. Patton has some very good athletes, now they get an opportunity to become good football players.
